Ilham Aliyev congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

As reported by AZERTAG, the message states:

"Dear Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly,

Thank you for the congratulatory message sent to me on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the "Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan." I, in turn, extend to you my most sincere congratulations on this significant anniversary.

I absolutely agree with you that this important document opened a new page in the history of Azerbaijani-Kazakh relations and further strengthened our cooperation.

This historic document, clearly reflecting the strategic essence of our interstate relations, created favorable ground for the development of active political dialogue at all levels, expansion of fruitful partnership in economic, trade, humanitarian and other spheres.

The current level of our relations with the brotherly country and reliable strategic partner - Kazakhstan is satisfying. The range of issues on the bilateral agenda is expanding every day and being filled with new content. At the same time, the joint activities of our countries in addressing important issues not only on a bilateral basis but also at a multilateral level and their mutual support in international organizations deserve approval.

I believe that the traditionally friendly relations and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, built on such sound foundations as the brotherhood of our peoples, the commonality of historical and cultural roots and spiritual values, will continue to develop along an upward trajectory and strengthen in the interests of the two peoples through our joint efforts.
