Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan contributed to the first successful reconciliation between Turkey and Israel

For us, this tension between Turkey and Israel is very alarming and concerning. Azerbaijan contributed to some extent to the first successful reconciliation between these two countries. We played an active role in trying to bring the countries closer together.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the international forum "Towards a New World Order" held at ADA University.

Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a close friend of both countries, the head of state added: "With Turkey, we are allies. In 2021, we signed the Shusha Declaration and are officially allies."

Noting that Israel is also a friendly country for Azerbaijan, the President said: "This mutual friendship over many years has been demonstrated in various difficult situations. Therefore, any misunderstanding between these two countries causes us concern."
