On July 17, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Mehmandaov estate complex in Shusha.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the distinguished guest was informed that the complex, consisting of large and small residential buildings, a family mosque and a spring, was built by representatives of the famous Azerbaijani Mehmandaov family in the 18th century.

It was reported that the Mehmandaov estate complex, one of the unique examples of Azerbaijan's rich architectural traditions, was restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Since October 2021, repair and restoration work has been carried out in the Mehmandaov estate complex, the family mosque and spring located on its territory, and the spring has been restored to its original appearance. The spring was put into use in September 2022 during President Ilham Aliyev's familiarization with the progress of restoration work in the complex. On May 9, 2023, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening of the Mehmandaov estate complex after restoration. A museum exhibition on the theme "House of a Karabakh nobleman" was created here. When compiling it, the interior features of a Karabakh nobleman's house and the lifestyle of an intellectual of the late 19th - early 20th centuries were taken as a basis. More than 150 antique items were used in the exhibition.
