Hikmet Hajiyev: Mehriban Aliyeva's visit to the Vatican - a vivid example of Azerbaijan's cultural and humanitarian diplomacy

The visit of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to the Vatican, her intensive and productive meetings, and especially the audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the country's support for the restoration of Catholic Christian heritage and its long-term cooperation in this area clearly demonstrate Azerbaijan's commitment to interfaith understanding and dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev wrote this on his account on the social network X.
"This visit is also a vivid example of Azerbaijan's cultural and humanitarian diplomacy.
Azerbaijan - a secular state with a predominantly Muslim population, rich Islamic traditions and a long history of peaceful coexistence of Muslims, Christians, Jews and representatives of other faiths - today is a shining example of inclusivity, tolerance and multicultural harmony.
Proud of its significant achievements in empowering women and ensuring equal opportunities, transforming the entire South Caucasus region into a space of peace and stability, Azerbaijan continues to promote a positive global agenda focused on peace, dialogue and cooperation," the publication says.
