President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated and spoke at the informal Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the Kazakh city of Turkestan.

This was reported in a segment by the Turkish television channel Haber Global.

"Turkestan became the first city to establish a twinning relationship with Azerbaijan's cultural capital - the city of Shusha after its liberation from occupation. Our ancient cities are brothers, just like our peoples," the report quoted the Azerbaijani leader as saying.

The video also noted that Ilham Aliyev emphasized the relevance of the summit's theme, reflecting the challenges and priorities of the modern era.

"Thanks to the opportunities created by digital development and artificial intelligence, the world is entering a new stage of development. The Turkic states must take leading positions in this process.

Our cooperation with Turkic states in the transport sector is expanding. In the current global geopolitical conditions, the significance of the Middle Corridor is increasing even further. The Zangezur corridor being implemented will become one of the key segments of the Middle Corridor.

The Turkic world, which is our family, must become one of the influential geopolitical centers of power of the 21st century. Azerbaijan will continue to make every effort to strengthen the Organization of Turkic States," the segment quoted the head of state as saying.
