Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia exchanged congratulatory letters

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov exchanged letters on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) and the Russian Federation (RF).

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jeyhun Bayramov in his letter noted that over the past decades, bilateral relations between the two countries, based on common historical values, mutual respect and trust, as well as taking into account each other's interests, have successfully developed and evolved from strategic partnership to allied interaction.

"Undoubtedly, regular political dialogue at the highest level, being an important factor in the progressive development of cooperation, has always set the tone for comprehensive Azerbaijani-Russian interaction. The signing of the Declaration on Allied Interaction on February 22, 2022 marked the transition of interstate relations to a qualitatively new level and created a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in various fields," the letter states.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that today the allied interaction, characterized by intensive bilateral contacts, continues to strengthen fruitfully:

"Clear examples are the steady growth of trade turnover, the expansion of the legal framework, as well as the successful implementation of joint projects and initiatives. A special place in the bilateral agenda is occupied by issues of expanding cultural and humanitarian ties and interregional cooperation. Undoubtedly, close cooperation between the foreign ministries contributes to strengthening allied interaction on a wide range of issues of mutual interest."

The Minister expressed confidence that Azerbaijani-Russian relations will continue to deepen comprehensively and be filled with new content in the interests of both states and peoples.
