Euronews prepared a report on President Ilham Aliyev's address at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly

Euronews TV channel prepared a report on Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the material emphasizes that from the UN podium, the head of state addressed issues of restoration in liberated territories and energy security, and also noted Azerbaijan's global role in combating climate change, interconnectivity and sustainable development.
"Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev at the UN General Assembly stated that the country has restored its territorial integrity after decades of conflict with Armenia, noting recent talks in Washington as a step toward a final peace agreement," the report says.
The report pays special attention to the statements of the President of Azerbaijan regarding restoration work in the once occupied territories.
"Immediately after the victory, Azerbaijan began a large-scale restoration program in the liberated territories. During the occupation, Armenia razed hundreds of our cities and villages to the ground, deliberately destroying 65 mosques. This was the policy of Armenia, which for almost 30 years was governed by war criminals. And we are restoring villages and cities that were destroyed to the foundation. As part of the 'Great Return' program, over 50 thousand people are already living, working, and receiving education in the liberated lands.
One of the most severe humanitarian problems Azerbaijan faces in the post-conflict period is the danger created by mines laid by Armenia during the occupation period. This large-scale mine threat hinders the safe return of displaced persons and the implementation of restoration projects," Euronews quotes the head of state.

"Special attention in President Ilham Aliyev's speech was given to energy security issues: Azerbaijan exports natural gas to 14 countries, and by 2030 plans to increase the share of renewable sources in electricity to 40%. The head of state also noted the growing role of the country as an important transport hub on the Middle Corridor and emphasized that the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor has increased by almost 90% since 2022," the report states.
The TV channel's material mentions the meeting of President Ilham Aliyev with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as with world leaders.

In conclusion, the TV channel quotes the words of President Ilham Aliyev, with which the head of state concluded his speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly:
"Our vision is clear. It is peace and development based on international law, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, mutual respect and cooperation.
Let us together build a world in which double standards will be eliminated, justice will not be selective, respect for the rule of law will be shown, peace will be ensured not only in words but also by practical steps."
