Elchin Amirbeyov: OTS is becoming a key platform for the implementation of connectivity projects
The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is acquiring an increasingly important role as a platform for coordinating connectivity projects.
As Report informs, this was stated by Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for special assignments Elchin Amirbayov during a panel discussion within the framework of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
"Turkey and Azerbaijan have been participating in the signing of major projects for decades, which laid the foundation for today's connectivity in our vast region. I think coordination here is the key word, because connectivity projects become successful only when countries and players move from political declarations to concrete mechanisms of cooperation. On this matter, I would like to emphasize the growing importance of the OTS, which unites Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the countries of Central Asia," Amirbayov said.
The special representative also pointed out that the geography of the OTS countries forms the basis of the Middle Corridor. According to him, the organization is becoming a platform for coordinating actions — from harmonizing customs procedures to eliminating infrastructure bottlenecks and resolving border issues.
He also noted that the Caspian Sea should be viewed "not as a barrier, but as a connecting link between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and Turkey."
