Israel and HAMAS agreed on the first phase of a peace plan mediated by US President Donald Trump.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the official statement of US President Donald Trump on his social network Truth Social, Israel and the Palestinian movement HAMAS have reached a principal agreement on the first phase of a peace plan aimed at ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This landmark event is also reported by world information agencies with reference to confirmations from Israeli officials, HAMAS, and Qatar.

Donald Trump announced the achievement of agreements with "enormous pride," which are intended to end the two-year war. According to him, this is "the first step toward a lasting and enduring peace."

Key points of the first phase of the agreement:

1. Release of hostages: The US President stated that all hostages will be released soon. Sources report that HAMAS plans to release all 20 living hostages this weekend. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he will convene the government on Thursday to approve the agreement and bring the hostages home.

2. Troop withdrawal and ceasefire: Israel will withdraw its armed forces to an "agreed line." This condition, as well as the cessation of war and ensuring the withdrawal of Israeli troops, was also confirmed by the HAMAS movement.

3. Humanitarian aid: The agreement provides for the admission of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. It is reported that in the first five days, up to 400 humanitarian trucks will pass through checkpoints daily.

4. Mediation: Trump expressed deep gratitude to the mediating countries that played a key role in achieving the breakthrough: Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.

The international community, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, welcomed the news, calling on all parties to "fully comply with the terms of the agreement" and ensure immediate and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.

This agreement is viewed as the most significant breakthrough in efforts to end the conflict, however, complex issues such as the future governance of Gaza and the disarmament of HAMAS remain subject to further negotiations.
