Chapter Euronews: We were subjected to pressure in connection with our position on Azerbaijan
Euronews editorial staff has repeatedly been subjected to pressure in Europe due to joint projects with Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated to journalists by the chairman of the board of the European TV channel Pedro Vargas David at the opening ceremony of the Euronews office in Baku.
"The difficulties primarily arose outside of Azerbaijan. Many in Europe did not accept our balanced position regarding this country," he noted.
Vargas David emphasized that, despite this, Euronews firmly adhered to its priorities and recognized the strategic importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan. He recalled that the EU is the country's largest partner and investor, as well as the main exporter of Azerbaijani products.
"Strengthening information cooperation with Azerbaijan remains a key objective of the company, given the significance of events taking place in the country for the European audience," he added.
