# Another Assassination Attempt on Trump: What's Behind the Incident?

An armed incident occurred in the United States during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, which was attended by President Donald Trump.

According to official reports, the attacker was identified as 31-year-old Paul Thomas Allen. He approached the security checkpoint in the hotel lobby, where he was promptly detained by Secret Service agents.

Trump stated that the incident was not related to Iran. However, according to a number of experts, against the backdrop of tense U.S.-Iran relations, harsh foreign policy rhetoric, and intensifying domestic political polarization, the incident is difficult to view as an ordinary crime.
