In the new issue of the "Military Chronicle" section on Baku TV, Azerbaijan's plans to significantly increase the number of JF-17 Thunder Block 3 fighters purchased from Pakistan and the serious changes this could cause in the regional military-strategic balance were discussed.

According to information, our country is preparing to more than double its fleet of Pakistani-Chinese manufactured JF-17 Thunder Block 3 combat aircraft. This acquisition is viewed as an important strategic step capable of changing the balance of power in the South Caucasus. The American portal CLRCUT and Malaysian publication Defence Security Asia have published special materials dedicated to this topic.

Despite the absence of official confirmation, the contract, estimated to be worth approximately $4.2 billion, is being actively discussed across various sources.

The JF-17 Block 3 aircraft are equipped with modern avionics, multifunctional radars, and advanced weapons systems, which fully align with Azerbaijan's post-war defense doctrine. Additionally, the country is strengthening its multi-vector defense strategy by integrating Turkish Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan missiles into these fighters.

This initiative is viewed as an important stage in Azerbaijan's military modernization and strengthening of its geopolitical influence in the region.
