A new stage in the US-Iran crisis: Moscow enters the game

Against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made important visits to Pakistan and Oman. The diplomat is currently in Russia.

The minister was received by President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, issues related to the resolution of the conflict in the Middle East are planned to be discussed.

Political commentator Muhammad Asadullazade commented on the situation on Baku TV.

"In particular, the main purpose of the visit to Russia is to discuss the package of recent proposals exchanged between the United States of America and Iran. Iran has certain proposals that it is also discussing with Russia. Let us take into account that Russia and the United States of America are also conducting certain negotiations specifically on the Iranian issue," he said.

It should be recalled that Iran put forward three proposals to the US for ending the war. According to available information, these proposals include the lifting of the American blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, obtaining guarantees that military operations against Lebanon will not be resumed, as well as the inclusion of the nuclear program issue in the negotiation agenda only at the final stage and only if an agreement is reached in the two previous stages.
