A meeting between Ilham Aliyev and Shehbaz Sharif was held in Lachin in a narrow format
On May 27, a meeting was held in Lachin between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in a narrow format.
As reported by AZERTAG, expressing satisfaction with his visit to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that this visit is another confirmation of Pakistan's position "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!"
The guest congratulated the head of our state on the upcoming Independence Day of Azerbaijan. Emphasizing that the restoration and construction work carried out in Lachin and the surrounding areas in a short period of time under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev is very impressive, the Prime Minister of Pakistan heartily congratulated the head of our state and the people of Azerbaijan on this achievement. Speaking about the natural beauty of these places, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that in the future they will become one of the magnificent and attractive tourist zones.
Recalling that these territories had been under occupation for 30 years, the head of our state emphasized that Lachin was one of the first regions of Azerbaijan occupied in 1992. President Ilham Aliyev said that during the occupation, Lachin was destroyed by Armenians, and its residents, like the civilian population of other occupied territories, were subjected to ethnic cleansing. The head of our state noted that restoration and construction work is currently underway in Lachin.
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reported that a ceasefire has been reached between India and Pakistan in the South Asian region. He noted that Pakistan is interested in establishing peace and stability in the region.
Expressing satisfaction with the achievement of peace and ceasefire in the region, the head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan advocates resolving all issues through dialogue.
At the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views took place on expanding trade and economic ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as cooperation in the fields of science, education and high technologies, and student exchanges.
During the conversation, it was noted with satisfaction that after this bilateral meeting between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, a trilateral meeting in the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Pakistan format with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also take place in Lachin on May 28. It was emphasized that this meeting will be another visible manifestation of brotherhood and friendship between our countries.
