Leyla Aliyeva was born on July 3, 1985.

Since May 10, 2007, she has served as the head of the Russian representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and since 2011 as Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. As Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva pays special attention to those who need care and assistance the most. She traditionally spends her birthday alongside children to whom she provides help. She assists elderly people, children deprived of parental care, and families of refugees and internally displaced persons.

For many years, within the framework of this initiative, events and campaigns have been held around the world — from Europe to America — designed to convey the truth about one of the most terrible events of modern history — the Khojaly genocide. Leyla Aliyeva's active work within the campaign has made a significant contribution to exposing Armenia's aggressive policy toward Azerbaijan and provided an opportunity to show the true face of the occupiers.
In July 2011, by decree of the President of Azerbaijan, Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the "Taraggi" (Progress) medal for her contribution to bringing the truth about our country to the world community.
In November 2011, she was awarded the honorary "Key to Life" prize for her active participation in a humanitarian campaign in New York.
