Who will be able to retire earlier: new changes in the legislation of Azerbaijan

The Prime Minister of Azerbaijan signed a decree on amendments to the "List of industries, professions, positions and indicators that give the right to an old-age labor pension on preferential terms."

According to the new document, the list of persons entitled to retire early has been clarified and supplemented. In particular, controllers in processing, crushing, transportation and sintering areas have been included in the preferential list. In addition to engineers, including electrical engineers, metallurgists have also been added to the list.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was written by a deputy of the Milli Mejlis Vugar Bayramov on his social media page.

"In the context of recent changes made by the Cabinet of Ministers, one of the most frequently asked questions is who is granted the right to an old-age pension on preferential terms. It should be noted that not only large families have the right to early retirement, but also a number of other citizens," he noted.

The right to a pension on preferential terms is enshrined in the law "On Labor Pensions." Thus, Article 8 of this law defines persons entitled to an old-age pension on preferential terms in connection with raising children, and Article 9 - other categories of citizens.

According to this law, women and men who have five or more children, including orphaned or deprived of parental care, adopted or taken under guardianship before they reach the age of eight, as well as parents of a child with a disability, provided that the children lived to the age of eight, are entitled to an old-age labor pension 5 years earlier. This means that in large families, mothers can retire at 59, and fathers at 60.

The deputy also noted that the list of citizens entitled to an old-age pension on preferential terms in accordance with Article 9 of the law is quite extensive.

"Thus, regardless of the last place of work, men who have worked for at least 12 years and 6 months, and women - for at least 10 years in the fields of art, underground or in particularly harmful and difficult working conditions included in the list approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, have the right to retire 5 years earlier. In addition, persons with pituitary dwarfism (lilliputians) and dwarfs with impaired physiological proportionality with at least 5 years of insurance experience are entitled to an old-age pension 20 years earlier.

Persons working in civil aviation in flight and flight-test positions, with at least 25 years of experience in the relevant profession, as well as specialists removed from flight work for health reasons with at least 20 years of experience, have the right to retire 15 years earlier. In addition, employees of a number of government structures, such as the prosecutor's office, military service, justice bodies and others, also have the right to early retirement depending on the length of service.

Along with all this, we have also presented our proposals to expand the circle of citizens who receive the right to early retirement. The deepening of pension reforms makes it increasingly relevant to use not only quantitative but also qualitative indicators when determining the retirement age," V. Bayramov emphasized.
