Vitaly Beylerbekov elected to the IGU Executive Committee
Deputy Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Vitaly Beylerbeyov has been elected as a member of the executive committee of the International Gas Union (IGU) for 2025-2028.
This was reported by BAKU.WS with reference to SOCAR.
According to the information, more than 60 IGU members participated in the voting, which concluded on April 25.
The newly formed committee of 6 people will begin its activities after the 29th World Gas Conference, which will be held in Beijing on May 19-23.
It should be noted that Vitaly Beylerbeyov, who has been working in the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years, participated in commercial negotiations and the management process for the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil block, the "Shahdeniz" gas condensate field, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. He was also involved in negotiations on the Southern Gas Corridor and contributed to the expansion of the South Caucasus Pipeline through the construction of the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which are important for gas supplies to Europe.
Recall that Azerbaijani gas is currently supplied to 12 countries, 10 of which are European.
