The price of platinum on NYMEX reached a new 17-year high
The price of the platinum futures contract with delivery in January 2026 on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) exceeded $2,000 per troy ounce for the first time since July 15, 2008, according to trading data.
As reported by BAKU.WS, as of 20:53 Baku time, the price of the platinum futures contract increased by 3.01%, to $2,020 per troy ounce. Since the beginning of the year, the price of the precious metal has more than doubled - up by 115.39%, and since the beginning of December - by 16.46%.
At the same time, the price of the palladium futures contract with delivery in March 2026 on NYMEX was at $1,789 per troy ounce (+0.8%).
