The National Assembly continues to discuss the country's financial plan for 2026

The discussion of the package of documents for the state budget for the 2026 fiscal year continues in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. Deputies have begun the first reading of the key financial document.

As BAKU.WS reports with reference to Azertag, the agenda of the plenary session of the parliament includes 8 relevant draft laws and draft resolutions.

1. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026" (first reading);

2. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2026" (first reading);

3. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for 2026" (first reading);

4. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the subsistence minimum in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026" (first reading);

5. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On the size of the need criterion limit in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026" (first reading);

6. Draft Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, laws "On the status of a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan", "On social insurance", "On compulsory state personal insurance of military personnel", "On compulsory state personal insurance of employees of judicial and law enforcement agencies", "On medical insurance", "On state duty", "On state care for persons suffering from diabetes", "On compulsory state personal insurance of diplomatic service employees serving in diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan", "On state care for persons suffering from hereditary blood diseases - hemophilia and thalassemia", "On insurance activities", "On compulsory insurance against loss of professional capacity due to industrial accidents and occupational diseases", "On state care for persons suffering from multiple sclerosis", "On mandatory medical check-ups for children", "On customs tariff", "On non-cash payments" and "On the rights of persons with disabilities" (first reading);

7. Draft resolution of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the expenditure estimate of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026;

8. Draft resolution of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the expenditure estimate of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.

Recall that next year, state budget revenues are expected to amount to 38 billion 609 million manats (0.7% more than the approved forecast for 2025), and expenditures - 41 billion 703.6 million manats (+0.7%). As a result, the state budget deficit will be 3 billion 94.6 million manats (+1.4%).

In 2026, the revenues of Azerbaijan's consolidated budget are expected to amount to 44 billion 969.4 million manats, and expenditures - 48 billion 839.3 million manats, which is 2.3% and 2.5% higher than the approved forecast for 2025, respectively. As a result, the consolidated budget deficit will be 3 billion 869.3 million manats (+5.2%).

In Azerbaijan's budget for the next year, the price of a barrel of oil is projected at 65 dollars.
