The Minister clarified the issue of transferring pension capital to heirs

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan clarified the issue of transferring pension capital to heirs.

As Oxu.Az reports, Anar Aliyev provided the relevant explanations while answering deputies' questions during the second reading of the bills "On the Budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2026" and "On the Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for 2026" at today's plenary session of the Milli Mejlis.

He emphasized that the pension insurance system in Azerbaijan operates on the principle of solidarity:

"That is, the insurance contributions that any citizen pays today are directed to finance the pensions of 1.1 million labor pensioners.

The amount of pension expenditures of the State Social Protection Fund has already reached 600 million manats per month. This means that the social insurance contributions that we collect together with the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy during the month are directed to pay pensions to pensioners in the same month.

It should be noted that according to Article 14.1 of the law "On Labor Pensions," family members of a deceased breadwinner are entitled to a labor pension in the event of loss of a breadwinner. That is, this issue is clearly established in the law."
