The Central Bank of Azerbaijan confirmed the release date of the updated 100 manats
The updated 100 manat banknote will enter circulation on July 15.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced to Trend by the General Director of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Rashad Mammadov.
According to him, the CBA informs the public in advance about the release of updated banknotes and any changes in their design through the bank's official website and social media pages.
"One of the latest changes was the release of the updated 50 manat banknote into circulation in December of last year. The release of the updated 100 manat banknote is scheduled for July 15 of this year," R. Mammadov noted.
He also reported that, according to the bank's analysis, most cases of banknote counterfeiting are carried out using primitive methods — color copying or scanning. Such counterfeit bills are easily detected by both bank employees and specialized equipment.
According to the CBA General Director, thanks to the high technical characteristics of national banknotes and reliable security features, the level of their counterfeiting remains significantly lower than that of many leading world currencies and currencies of neighboring countries.
