Tax control over the turnover of excisable goods will be strengthened in Azerbaijan

The State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan will strengthen control over the turnover of excisable products, including beer.

This was announced at a meeting with beer producers.

During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the measures being implemented to ensure transparency in the said market, as well as the results of the analysis conducted. According to the Service, in a number of cases, facts were revealed of the use of raw materials for production without proper documentation, as well as their concealment from accounting records. It was noted that such violations lead to incorrect declaration of production volumes and tax risks.

The agency emphasized that measures prescribed by law are being taken against violators, and that tax control will be expanded.

The meeting discussed the results of recent control measures carried out in this area. It was noted that during tax control measures, particular attention is paid to compliance with requirements in the sale of beer by producers, as well as by wholesale and retail trade enterprises, the registration of transactions in the information system, and the prevention of product sales without excise stamps.

The Tax Service stated that strict measures will be applied for such violations in accordance with the legislation.
