In the second quarter of this year, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) carried out drilling operations totaling 18 thousand meters.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to SOCAR, 1.8 million tons of oil and 2 billion cubic meters of gas were extracted from fields operated by the company independently or as the main shareholder. The company's natural gas production increased by 8.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Gas production across the country increased by approximately 1.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2024 and amounted to 12.7 billion cubic meters. In total, 6.8 million tons of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan in the second quarter of the current year.

In the reporting period, the volume of oil exported by SOCAR to foreign markets slightly increased compared to the same period last year and amounted to approximately 4.2 million tons. This includes the volume of oil produced by the company on its own, as well as profit shares belonging to the Azerbaijani state and SOCAR from oil produced by international consortia operating in our country. The country's natural gas exports amounted to 6.2 billion cubic meters, while consumption was 2.4 billion cubic meters. A 6% increase was recorded in natural gas consumption.

In the second quarter of this year, SOCAR processed more than 1.5 million tons of oil and over 766 million cubic meters of gas. About 570 thousand tons of oil, petrochemical, and gas chemical products produced at SOCAR enterprises in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
