SOCAR applies new technologies to reduce methane emissions
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is applying new technologies to reduce methane emissions.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by SOCAR Deputy Vice President Hikmet Abdullayev during a panel discussion at the 31st International Exhibition "Oil and Gas of the Caspian" at the Baku Expo Center.
According to him, one of the main areas of SOCAR's activities is the application of advanced technologies available on the market.
"An important stage in the field of methane emission reduction is improving the quality of emissions data. For this purpose, measurements and studies are conducted, and artificial intelligence tools are used. After the measurement and data verification process, targeted measures are taken to reduce methane emissions."
Abdullayev noted that reducing methane emissions at this stage is one of the company's top priorities: "The application of new technologies in this area allows for more effective emissions management and minimizes the environmental impact."
