Project uniting Turkic states: green energy bridge from Azerbaijan to Europe
The new issue of the COP BAKU program on Baku TV discussed Azerbaijan's energy policy, which geographically connects Asia and Europe.
It is noted that the country is successfully transitioning from traditional energy to green energy, becoming a key center connecting the two continents in terms of energy.
The strategic partnership agreement signed by President Ilham Aliyev in Bucharest in 2022 became a turning point in this direction. Under the agreement, Azerbaijan's green energy will be transmitted to Europe via an underwater cable laid along the bottom of the Black Sea.
Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources Javid Abdullayev reported that the project is already in the implementation stage, and Turkic states are planned to be connected to this energy line.
Simultaneously, work is underway on a second energy export route that will connect Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and Bulgaria. The Minister of Energy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Olgun Amcaoglu, called the project a symbol of economic and spiritual unity of the Turkic world.
