Mikail Jabbarov to visit Prague: a new stage in Azerbaijani-Czech relations

Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov will make an official visit to the Czech Republic on July 22 to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, prospects for expanding cooperation in industrial and trade spheres are planned to be discussed.

It should be noted that last week, a Czech delegation visited Azerbaijan. During bilateral meetings, the parties exchanged views on economic cooperation, development of transport infrastructure, and discussed common priorities. The significant potential for mutually beneficial and sustainable partnership was emphasized.

Recall that the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic was held on March 3, 2023, in Prague.

According to data from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade turnover between the two countries in January-June 2025 amounted to $484.94 million, which is 6.23% less compared to the same period last year. Exports from Azerbaijan amounted to $450.76 million (-8.41%), while imports were $34.19 million (+36.69%).

By the end of 2024, the total trade volume between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic reached $1.153 billion, increasing by 50.31% compared to the previous year.
