In Azerbaijan, a law on cryptocurrencies may be adopted by the end of 2026
Azerbaijan may adopt a law related to virtual assets and crypto markets by the end of 2026.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, this was stated by the Director of the Department of Financial Technologies and Innovations of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Fidan Tofidi at the event "Azerbaijan's Digital Financial Agenda".
According to her, the CBA has prepared the final version of the draft law related to virtual assets and crypto markets and submitted it to the relevant government agencies:
"This is a fairly significant achievement for us. Since this area has not been regulated until now, it remains relatively new both for Azerbaijan and for the world. If everything goes according to plan, by the end of the year the country plans to approve the draft law on the regulation of the virtual assets market. The team is carrying out active and intensive work in this direction."
