European Commissioner: Azerbaijani gas supplies will remain an important pillar of the Union's energy security
We continue to reduce our dependence on Russian gas, and the importance of our partnership with Azerbaijan will grow, benefiting Europe's energy security and Azerbaijan's economy.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by European Commission Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, speaking at the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Advisory Council on Green Energy.
He noted that since the start of commercial deliveries through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, Azerbaijan has earned approximately 2024 billion euros from natural gas exports to EU buyers during 2024.
Calling this an opportunity to clearly state his position, the commissioner emphasized: "Azerbaijani gas supplies will remain an important pillar of the European Union's energy security."
