Bakmetropoliten discussed the purchase of 300 new train cars with Stadler Rail Group
CJSC "Baku Metro" discussed with the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group the purchase of up to 300 new wagons with minimal operating costs.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the joint-stock company, the negotiations took place during a meeting between the Chairman of the Board of the organization Vusal Aslanov and a delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Stadler Rail Group Peter Spuhler.
The parties also reviewed the work that needs to be done within the framework of the State Program for 2025-2030. It was emphasized that projects should be implemented with the support of international financial institutions.
In addition, there was an exchange of views about the positive impact of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) Systems on the operation of the Baku Metro. It was noted that at the end of the current year, it is planned to announce a tender in this direction, and the process will cover 2028-2030.
Spuhler provided information about projects implemented by Stadler in various countries and their experience in the field of new technologies, noting their readiness to share this knowledge with Bakmetropoliten.
