On March 14, People's Writer and Chairman of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan Anar celebrates his birthday.

The writer turns 79 years old.

The People's Writer was born on March 4, 1938, into the family of poets Rasul Rza and Nigar Rafibeyli.

Anar's mother, Nigar Rafibeyli, was the granddaughter of a prominent public and political figure of Azerbaijan, the first Minister of Health of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Governor-General of the Ganja Governorate. The writer's father, Rasul Rza, was from the Mammadkhanli family.

Anar began publishing in 1960, and his first novella "Contact" was published in 1976. Twelve films have been made based on Anar's screenplays, three of which he directed himself. Based on one of Anar's stories, the film "Every Evening at Eleven" was produced at Mosfilm by director Samsonov.

One of the writer's most famous works, "The Sixth Floor of a Five-Story Building," tells the story of the relationship between a divorced woman and a young man. Other equally interesting works by the writer include "A Room in a Hotel," "Dante's Anniversary," "I, You, He and the Telephone," and others.
