Today is the birthday of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan Siyavush Aslan

Today is the birthday of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, outstanding theater and film actor Siyavush Aslan.

As BAKU.WS reminds, one of the prominent representatives of the national school of realistic acting, S. Aslan was born on September 5, 1935 in Baku.

From 1947 to 1953, he performed in drama circles of Atamoglan Rzayev, Agadadash Gurbanov, Gurban Musayev, Agasalim Manafli.

In 1954, he was accepted into the variety troupe of the Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy, and in 1958 - into the Guba State Drama Theater.

After returning to Baku in 1959, Siyavush began working as an understudy at the Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy. In the same year, after successfully playing the role of Gosha in Agasi Meshadibekov's play Toy kimindir? ("Whose Wedding?"), he was transferred to the main acting ensemble. On the stage of the Musical Comedy Theater, he created bright, memorable characters beloved by the audience, such as Bayram ("Song of Our Village", Kerim Kerimov), Ibishov ("We Know Ourselves", Shikhali Gurbanov), Dadashbala ("Hijran", Sabit Rahman), Gamzali ("The Kidnapped Girl", Jahangir Mamedov) and others.

For many years, S. Aslan was one of the leading actors of the Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy, and from 1994 to 1996 he worked as its artistic director.

In 1974, Siyavush Aslan was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, and in 1982 - People's Artist.

The actor was awarded the Presidential pension and decorated with the "Shohrat" (1995) and "Sharaf" (2013) orders.

S. Aslan died in 2013 in Baku after a serious illness. He was buried in the second Alley of Honor.
