People's Artist of Azerbaijan, renowned director and actor Alexander Sharovsky has passed away.

As reported by BAKU.WS, in connection with the director's death, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her condolences on her official Instagram account.

"Alexander Yakovlevich Sharovsky. Rest in peace, great Master!" the post reads.

It should be recalled that the People's Artist had been suffering from illness for a long time. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation took on the responsibility for his treatment.
