A new episode of the Retro Baku program on the Baku TV channel is dedicated to the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, world-renowned tar player Ramiz Guliyev.

During the program, Honored Artist and kamancha player Mirnazim Asadullayev spoke about the musician's invaluable role in world art. According to him, this great master presented the Azerbaijani tar on the international stage so magnificently that no one has equaled him to this day.

It is worth noting that in 1974, Ramiz Guliyev became a laureate of the All-Union Variety Artists Competition in Moscow.

The late maestro's son, Honored Artist Eyyub Guliyev, shared his memories of this prestigious competition. He emphasized that at that competition, Alla Pugacheva only took third place, while Ramiz Guliyev became the absolute winner. The musician's son added that his father was a unique artist who brought Azerbaijan to the top spot on such grand world platforms.

Eyyub Guliyev also recalled an amazing coincidence that happened to him in Poland. While studying in Saint Petersburg, he received an invitation from a major Polish symphony orchestra to perform at a joint concert. The organizers mentioned that the musician he would be sharing the stage with had the same surname.

Eyyub Guliyev admitted that he went through famous pianists and violinists in his mind, but it never occurred to him that they were talking about his father. When the organizers named Ramiz Guliyev, it turned out that the concert organizers did not know about their family connection, and his father himself had no idea that his son had also been invited to that evening. Thus, they completely by chance reunited on the same stage in Poland.
