Artists are dissatisfied with the Ministry of Culture's attitude: an audit has begun

Social media is spreading statements from some art figures claiming that invitations to state events are distributed without a transparent selection mechanism.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to İTV, according to them, the same names have been appearing on this list for years.

Singer Tarana Mahmudova, who has been involved in jazz vocals for many years, notes that she has not received invitations to any state events.

"For so many years as a musician working in the jazz vocal genre, I have not participated in any state event. I want to represent Azerbaijan. I have repeatedly reached out, talked about my jazz concerts. I have invited famous world performers. I have an established ensemble. I can represent our Azerbaijan," she emphasized.

Kemanche performer Shahriyar Musayev also expressed his opinion on this issue.

"During the last six months, they took explanatory statements from us. Not just from me, but from many performers. Parviz Gasymov, Almakhanum herself, many artists were invited. The internal control department contacted us. Despite the fact that they took explanatory statements from us, there have been no results for six months," he stated.

The Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan noted that an investigation is being conducted regarding the voiced claims.
