The number of flood victims in northern China has risen to 12 people
The number of tourists killed in the flood in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China has increased to 12 people. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.
According to the agency, authorities mobilized more than 1,600 rescuers during the search operation. The body of the last of the deceased tourists, who were swept away along with their vehicles by a powerful current, was discovered on Friday morning.
Last week, eight victims and four missing persons were reported. The emergency occurred on August 16 at 22:00 Beijing time (17:00 Moscow time) in a camping tourist site in the urban district of Bayan Nur.
