The number of deaths resulting from the earthquake in Afghanistan has reached 1124 people.
BAKU.WS reports that Reuters has released this information citing the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society.
It has been reported that according to preliminary information, approximately 3251 people have been injured.
Recall that on the night of September 1, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Afghanistan. The epicenter of the natural disaster was recorded near the Pakistan border, 27.3 kilometers (17 miles) away from the city of Jalalabad. The Afghanistan Ministry of Health stated that since the earthquake's focus is located in a difficult-to-access mountainous area, it will take time to obtain complete information about the number of victims.
Later, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent a team of rescuers to the country to conduct search and rescue operations and provide assistance to people affected by the powerful earthquake in eastern Afghanistan. In addition, the Emirates has sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including food, medicine, tents, and other essential items.
