Scientists warned that the end of the world will begin in Antarctica

An international group of scientists has released alarming data about the possible consequences of glacier melting in Antarctica. According to their estimates, global warming could trigger catastrophic events on a planetary scale - many countries will face the threat of large-scale flooding, and the ice sheet of the continent risks breaking into pieces.

Although most modern researchers believe that humanity will not face such a catastrophe in the 21st century and it will most likely occur in the next century, statistical data already cause serious concerns.

Over the past three decades, cardinal changes have occurred in Antarctica. Specialists warn that complete melting of glaciers could lead to a rise in the World Ocean level by 70 centimeters.

The increase in average air temperature also has a significant impact on the climate situation. Many oceanologists and climatologists are already sounding the alarm, calling for immediate action.

Humanity needs to urgently develop effective methods to counteract this possibly irreversible process, reports the "Kulik" news agency.

A recent discovery by European researchers adds to the concerns: giant lakes have been found under Antarctic ice, capable of suddenly emptying, which significantly accelerates the process of glacier melting.
