The Russian Foreign Ministry urged foreigners to urgently leave Kyiv, and advised residents of the Ukrainian capital to stay away from military and administrative facilities.
The statement was published on the Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic agency.
The official statement, issued on May 25, 2026, emphasized that the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a college in Starobilsk on May 22 was "the last straw." In connection with this, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are commencing systematic strikes on Ukrainian defense enterprises in Kyiv, including sites for the production and preparation of UAVs, as well as on decision-making centers and command posts.
It is noted that, since the aforementioned facilities are dispersed throughout the Ukrainian capital, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned all foreigners, including diplomats, of the need to urgently leave the city, and advised Kyiv residents to avoid approaching military and administrative infrastructure.
