Putin and Trump may meet in one of these two countries
Russia is considering Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as possible venues for a summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
As reported by Baku.ws, Reuters writes about this, citing "Russian sources familiar with the course of negotiations."
According to the agency's sources, high-ranking Russian officials have visited both Saudi Arabia and the UAE in recent weeks as part of preparations for potential talks. One source also reported that there is some resistance to this idea in Moscow due to Washington's "close military ties" with these countries.
Reuters indicates that both Putin and Trump have established friendly relations with the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
At the same time, the article notes that Moscow has repeatedly denied direct contacts with the US regarding the preparation of a phone call between Trump and Putin, which would precede a possible meeting later this year.
