Media: Azerbaijani citizens were among the crew members of the vessel detained in Finland
Among the crew members of the detained cargo ship Fitburg, sailing under the flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, were citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by Reuters agency with reference to the Finnish police.
According to the information, the Finnish Coast Guard detained the vessel for allegedly damaging an underwater telecommunications cable of Elisa company in the Gulf of Finland.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the country's authorities are conducting an inspection of the vessel that allegedly damaged the cable. Finnish police noted that the damaged cable connects Helsinki and Tallinn, and the damage site is located in Estonia's exclusive economic zone.
