Mass protests begin in the US after a series of unexpected decisions by Trump

Large-scale protest actions have begun in the United States, caused by citizens' dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump's domestic policy and the activities of efficiency department head Elon Musk.

According to the publication, about 1,200 demonstrations are planned across all 50 states on April 5. Organizers expect these protests to be among the largest in the country's modern history.

"Thousands of protesters gathered in downtown Washington, despite cloudy weather and drizzling rain. According to organizers' estimates, more than 20 thousand people are expected to participate in the rally on the National Mall," Reuters reports.

Participants in the actions believe that the actions of the new president's administration are harmful to both the state and its citizens. In addition to the United States, protest demonstrations are also planned in Canada and Mexico.

After returning to the presidency, Donald Trump began implementing large-scale reforms. In particular, he reduced the number of civil servants, abolished the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and introduced increased tariffs on imported goods from several countries.

The day before, Trump signed a decree introducing mirror tariffs on products from more than 180 countries. The president explained this as necessary to protect American industry and reduce the trade deficit.
