EU prepares new package of sanctions against Russia

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the European Union (EU) is already preparing the next package of sanctions against Russia, with a decision expected to be made by the end of June.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, he announced this at a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Berlin.
"Regarding sanctions, the European Union is already preparing the next package. A decision on this issue should be made by the end of June," he said, specifying that the sanctions will affect the energy sector, as well as the so-called shadow fleet.
"We are determined, including myself personally, to implement this consistently and with the maximum possible cooperation within the European Union. We cannot do this alone. But we will, of course, try to convince those countries that are still hesitant that this is the right path," concluded the head of the German government.
