Australia thanks Azerbaijan for assistance in evacuating its citizens from Iran

Australia thanked the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) for evacuating its citizens from Iran.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, a telephone conversation took place between the head of the country's foreign policy department Jeyhun Bayramov and his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.

During the conversation, the diplomats discussed the current security situation resulting from the Israeli-Iranian confrontation.

The Australian Foreign Minister informed the Azerbaijani side about plans to evacuate citizens of her country from the Islamic Republic and expressed sincere gratitude for the support provided by Azerbaijan in this process.

The Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of the consultation mechanism between the foreign policy departments of the two countries.
