A meeting between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine took place in Washington.
A meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place in Washington.
As the Ukrainian leader wrote on his Telegram channel page following the negotiations, the parties discussed the possibility of granting Kyiv a license to produce missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
"Discussed with the president licenses for the production of Patriot interceptors and some other ideas that could help. We also talked about diplomacy - it is important to intensify the diplomatic process (for the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine - ed.). Our teams will coordinate the details of further communication. Grateful to the United States for its firm support," he wrote.
Zelensky characterized the meeting positively, calling it "good."
He also expressed condolences to Trump over the death of Senator Lindsey Graham, whose funeral is taking place today: "Expressed to President Trump our condolences over the death of Lindsey Graham."
