Just a few days before the expected presentation of the iPhone 17 series from Apple, the "main design mystery" surrounding the Pro models has finally been solved.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this is how the editorial team of MacRumors characterized the new message from well-known insider and Bloomberg correspondent Mark Gurman.

According to Gurman, known for his accurate predictions about Apple products, the iPhone 17 Pro models will get a "new cutout in the lower two-thirds of the body, which will function as a wireless charging zone."

Last year, it was noted that the back panel of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max would feature a "new design made partially of aluminum and partially of glass." However, at that time there was no complete clarity about how exactly this solution would look, which gave rise to many different concepts and 3D renders from enthusiasts and designers.

Renders from MacRumors have already demonstrated a rounded rectangular insert on the back of the device, and Gurman's insider information confirms that this is exactly the design Apple has planned. The reason for this glass insert is obvious: it is necessary for wireless charging functionality, such as MagSafe and Qi, which is impossible with a fully aluminum back cover.

Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether the glass insert and aluminum part will have a uniform color, or if Apple will prefer a two-tone solution in the MagSafe zone.

The presentation of the iPhone 17 series will take place on September 9.
