Therapist Alexey Khukhrev warned that bad breath can be caused by ENT diseases.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Lenta.ru, gastrointestinal diseases such as gastroparesis, diabetes, as well as liver and kidney disorders can be the cause of bad breath. Nevertheless, dental problems may also be involved.

"If food stays in the stomach for 12-20 hours, it can start to ferment and rot, causing belching with the smell of rotten eggs," the expert explained.

Doctors call this condition gastroparesis. In addition, bad breath can be encountered with halitosis. It is provoked by white plugs formed from food residues and bacteria in the tonsils. When a person poorly controls their diabetes, their breath may smell like acetone, and in case of kidney failure - like ammonia.

According to "Tsargrad," bad breath can be the result of a low-carbohydrate and high-protein diet, which negatively affects the body.

Plastic surgeon and ENT doctor Ilyana Goncharova spoke about another phenomenon that can cause bad breath. She noted that breathing disorders, which can occur, for example, due to a deviated septum, play a role in this process.
