Release dates for new slim iPhone revealed
Apple intends to release iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Bloomberg, the new product is expected to be equipped with a 2-nanometer Apple chip, which will provide increased energy efficiency and longer battery life - these are the characteristics the company plans to emphasize in the new series.
Earlier, insiders claimed that the second generation of the ultra-thin iPhone was postponed indefinitely due to low sales of the original iPhone Air model. However, updated data indicates a milder delay: the release will be postponed by only six months - from autumn 2026 to spring 2027.
The Bloomberg article also notes that the Air line was not initially intended for annual updates, as is the case with the base and Pro models. Apple specifically avoided the name "iPhone 17 Air" to emphasize the distance between series within the product line.
From a design perspective, major changes should not be expected: iPhone Air 2 will retain the appearance of the previous version, receiving only minor improvements - in particular, increased battery life and the addition of an ultra-wide camera.
