Apple is developing an innovative strap for wearing iPhone 17

According to rumors, Apple is preparing to introduce a new accessory for its future iPhone 17 lineup – a strap that will allow users to conveniently wear the smartphone on or across the shoulder. Recent leaks have revealed details about its design and functionality, writes GSMArena.

This accessory will be compatible with special iPhone 17 cases which are expected to have built-in strap attachments. According to leaks, the strap is equipped with an "innovative system": it has a flexible metal core that makes it fully magnetic along its entire length.

The ends of the strap feature rings with opposite polarization, creating a powerful magnetic attraction and ensuring secure fastening. This mechanism is designed to simplify attachment and detachment, completely eliminating the need for traditional hooks or loops.

The strap is expected to be made of woven nylon, similar to that used in Apple Sport Loop bands. A silicone version is also possible, which would offer a softer touch and greater flexibility. The color palette of the straps is expected to match the colors of the iPhone 17 cases.

Production of the new shoulder strap has apparently already begun, indicating its imminent market release. The accessory is expected to become available next month, simultaneously with the presentation of the new iPhone 17 and corresponding cases, which is rumored to take place on September 9.
