World Championship: Zokhrab Safarov lost in the consolation bout

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Zohrab Safarov held his next bout at the U-17 World Championship taking place in Baku.

As Report informs, the athlete competing in the 92 kg weight category lost to Iran's representative Amirreza Mehritalarposhti 3:4 in the bronze medal consolation match.

Thus, Z. Safarov finished the competition without any medals.

As of now, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have managed to win three medals. The day before, Isfahan Hasanov (80 kg) became a silver medalist, while Omar Salmanov (48 kg) and Orkhan Habibli (65 kg) climbed to the third step of the podium.

It should be noted that the tournament is being held at the National Gymnastics Arena. The competition involves approximately 700 young athletes from more than 60 countries. The Azerbaijani side is represented at the world championship by a delegation of 29 wrestlers.
