Vusal Isayev: Fan Support Helped the Azerbaijan National Team Win at the European Championship

The Azerbaijan national futsal team managed to win gold medals at the European Championship in Slovakia thanks to the powerful support of fans.

As reported by BAKU.WS, national team member Vusal Isayev told Report about this.

The player thanked everyone who supported the team both in the stands and in Azerbaijan.

"I want to thank everyone who supported us in the stands and back home. We won the European Championship gold medals for the second time. We did it after winning the World Championship title. It was very difficult. After the group stage, we ended up in a bracket with the reigning world and European champions. We played very tough matches. Seeing the support of the fans, we found the strength within ourselves and fought until the very end," Isayev said.

According to him, the most difficult match of the tournament was the encounter with the reigning European champions — the Serbian national team.

"We couldn't show our best game. The opponent had studied us very well. It was a physically strong team. But after the victory over Serbia, my confidence that we would become champions grew even stronger," he noted.

As a reminder, in the European Championship final on June 4, the Azerbaijan national team defeated Ukraine 2:0 and won the tournament's gold medals.
